What vehicle do you plan using either filter on? I use the Toyota 90915-YZZD1 on my 2012 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L 4 cylinder due to that's what the dealership used for years before I started doing my own oil changes.

I have used both on my Toyota pickup, and both seem to do fine.

I was buying the YZZD1 from my local Toyota dealer, and then all of a sudden they would not sell it to me because the part number was superseded to 90915-YZZG2. The YZZG2 is made by Purolator. The dealer wanted more money too, so I started buying the 910S for about $4 from the local Walmart.

Anyway, I have cut open both the D1 and 910S. The D1 is basically a cartridge filter in a can. It's a good quality filter. The 910S has always looked good too, but I do think the D1 is better made with the cartridge filter in a can.

I use them both. I like the FL400s a little more compared to the FL910. OEM Toyota filters are cheaper for me compared to a Fram or Wix where I live and who I deal with at the dealer.

It would be interesting to see the YZZG2 cut open. Did the dealer say it was made by Purolator, or did that come from another source?

$4.22 is a pretty good price for a good filter.....(even if its on your lawnmover).

I did end up cutting open a new YZZG2, but did not post anything, and yes it's definitely made by Purolator. It's been over two years since I compared a Purolator made 910S and the YZZG2. The only thing I do remember of significance is both had metal crimped seam. The YZZG2 and 910S were so similar that there was no point in buying the YZZG2 for almost twice the money when they are basically the same filter.
