But it is not all the same additive treat level. That's a good question... Considering it all comes in through the same pipelines.

Top tier fuel is not a marketing gimmick.I've always said it was a marketing gimmick to begin with.
Never saw a TT sticker.
You know the additive treat level is inadequate? It won't be below the EPA minimums. Thanks kschachn!
Looks like I best pickup some Techron and start adding to my tank!
Probably Hy-Vee or Casey'sOn the other end of the spectrum, what's the worst or lowest tier of gas you can get?
Why would those be any worse than any other outlet with the EPA minimum of additives?Probably Hy-Vee or Casey's
Will the crude from Iran and Venezuela make Top Tier?
I'm sure it will. It all comes out of the same pipeline. What supposedly makes it "Top Tier", is all the junk they put in it after they buy it.Will the crude from Iran and Venezuela make Top Tier?
Just speculation I guess. Along with the KwikShop that are associated with Kroger. The only upside is they go through a lot of fuel so it's probably not stale. Sometimes I think that less additives is not as big of a deal as it seems. The car companies who suggested the upper tier levels have countlessly applied to have even more detergents added. There is an upside coming as the price of corn is going up..maybe to the point where pure fuel will be cheaper and doesn't need big brother having to subsidize it. Right now the additives are in short supply and many pea based fuel additives are missing on the shelves. Why would those be any worse than any other outlet with the EPA minimum of additives?
I've noticed that as well. Wal-Mart almost never has Gumout Multi System Tune-Up in stock anymore. The shelves used to be full of it.Right now the additives are in short supply and many pea based fuel additives are missing on the shelves.
It also used to be cheaper than a can of sea foam. At my local Walmart, the sticker price keeps going up but the shelf is always empty.I've noticed that as well. Wal-Mart almost never has Gumout Multi System Tune-Up in stock anymore. The shelves used to be full of it.
