Top oil producing States

I guess the days of Pennsylvania sweet crude have ended. In places like Titusville and Oil City, these towns were the birthplace of the oil industry in this country.
Oil may have played out in Pennsyltuckey but Natural Gas is big time there still.

The top five dry natural gas-producing states in 2022, by amount and percentage share of total U.S. dry gas production, were:
  • Texas—9.25 Tcf—25.4%
  • Pennsylvania—7.41 Tcf—20.4%
  • Louisiana—4.04 Tcf—11.1%
  • West Virginia—2.69 Tcf—7.4%
  • Oklahoma—2.51 Tcf—6.9%

I don't agree with the self renewing crude theory as there is no science to support it. I was taught that crude was mostly plankton like creatures that were oil bearing, that coalesced, after the oceans they were in evaporated more than 60 million years ago. If I'm wrong, please provide some references with independent review.
Oh yeah, there was no science to support most all of the devices we have now back in the 1500's or so, sorta proves mans science does not know everything. And a lot of true science is either not allowed or ignored. There are topics right now taught in colleges that literally spit on true science, how many know what I'm talking about.

Not much for conspiracy theories. This is settled science. I'm not claiming that crude oil couldn't replenish itself. I think you would need to replicate what formed it initially. If you have supporting evidence for an alternative means of the earth regenerating crude continuously without a dying ocean and plenty of time, bring the evidence.

I think if you did a little bit of simple math, it might paint a bit of a better picture on why some people think the theory has some validity. In shear volume. I was taught that Pluto was a planet.

My math skills are decent. Can you produce a technical paper or two to support your hypothesis? I am willing/science is willing to change when the facts change to support a new understanding of a process. The creation of crude oil isn't theoretical. If there is an alternative supported by objective, testable, repeatable results. Bring it.

Had to remove the conspiracy theories and religion from a topic about oil...

Folks if you wish to argue either, facebook and other cesspools await.

We don't discuss them here.

...Most established scientific theories can be considered laws except that there can still be tests to affirm the theory...the theory of evolution and the fossil record has pretty much been proven without doubt by math and DNA sequencing. Probably should be renamed the LAW of evolution.
Some scientific clarification. The Laws of Thermodynamics are laws because they are more than working Hypotheses, laws which are fully understood, they work, and have been proven over time.

Theories today are working hypothesis and subject to change. Any one negative lab test or contradictory observation means the theory is either rejected or modified.

Operational science is based on ongoing processes, repeatable measurements and observations. Historical science is based on one-time unique events, are unrepeatable, not directly observed, and relies mostly on the interpretation of the investigator.

But yes, the oil industry is the Forum title and discussions should be limited to that topic.
