Here is a chart of historical and current US oil production. It’s notable that total production will be less than 10 million bbls/day and is still is a free fall. Current oil prices hovering in the $40/bbl range is too low to keep drilling and fracking wells.

but I’ll gladly agree with my real father and stepfather that “oil is cheap” so I’d rather not whine about that.
