This will be my 2nd OCI with this line up. After this run, I'll grab a sample and send to Blackstone.

I'll send in 3 samples: The used oil from a plain OCI with just M1 and RP filter, a VOA with the M1 Racing Mix I'm using, and a 5-6k used oil sample..... Results in a few weeks coming

What do you hope to gain by using the 'racing oil'?
Agreed. It will be interesting to hear OPs response, given that Mobil explicitly states for track use only and clearly claims OCIs "of 500 miles or more are attainable."

Yet guys drop it in their Silverado because???
Hey @Phishin , what do you know the the Mobil engineers don't?

I run 5 or 15w-40 in mine. Over 315k on it but it's nothing impressive. it's a 6.0 it'll do 300k+ while being kicked in the nuts anyway. I change every 8-11k too.

To answer your question:

What I trying to gain? I will have an oil sample with plain M1 oil, and then another with this mix (4 quarts of M1 5w30 EP and 2 quarts of M1 Racing 0w50). I'm hoping to compare the wear analysis to see if all the extra additives in the racing oil might provide less wear.

Yes, I know the TBN is very low in their race oil. That is why I'm combining it with EP to give me a bit of a buffer. But I typically only run my oil 5-6k miles anyhow.

I believe all the extra Group V ester in the M1 Racing oil will also help with cleaning varnish and gunk.

Just how much wear do you think is occurring? It's a GM 6.0l engine.
