To funnel or not to funnel?

whats funny is the guys who keep them in plastic to prevent the dust from getting in them.

my funnels provide habitat for the ecosytem in my garage between uses.
i hit it with wd-40 or whatever is handy and work a little swab action, then add supertech products and move on.
now i am on the shell formula bandwagon. same price as supertech and a bona fide brand.
i work a little rotella in there to for substance.

My dedicated funnel theory is quite superior to anything I've seen so far. Only 1 liquid is used for each funnel and each funnel is labeled for that liquid. I can afford some more equipment but am out of room to store my funnels. Lol.

I want to get a set of these in the various sizes.

I had a 4 quart one about 25 years ago. Lots of water over the dam since then. They come in 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8 quart models.

..but we are on funnels here.

Now that I'm about to put up images of a bunch of funnels, I'm surprised that we never developed a "oil tech article" section. I mean authored by someone here. It would show how many funnels ..filter wrenches...etc.

Bagging the funnel is much easier than doing all that. Just pull it out of the bag and its ready for pouring.

I have about 10 funnels depending on application, angles, volume, etc. I have ones that only see clean oils and ones for dirty and never mix. I clean the clean funnels with brake cleaner and shop towels before every use, my shop is waaay to dusty to keep it clean between usage.

To add, who shakes the bottles of oil to agitate and suspend the additiives that have settled? I know I know, everyone!!:)

Ah ..a well rounded funnel shrine. I'm only up to about 6 funnels ..and most are not dedicated for specific use. I'm working on a oil filter wrench shrine ...

I have three "metal loop" filter wrenches for sizes as small as the wife's 3.8L up to the big ones on my 2007 Winnebago Vectra, 8.9L Cummins

.......currently Donaldson filters and mineral Delo 400 15w40, 26.8L capacity, NO bypass yet. Al other lubes are factory fill.

Back to wrenches I have two smaller adjustable filter wrenches for small engines you' use with a 3/8" drive, and two chain wrenches for various in-betweens the others don't match.

I like lube changes, engine, trans, diffs, TC's, I may have my mechs do them when I'm too busy but I do enjoy them when I get the chance myself.

Gary, that top set of orange funnels looks pretty nice. I would like to get a set of those. Any ideas on internet sites that sell them?

What are those two funny-looking containers to the left of the Fram filter??? I think I remember seeing those old things in a movie once when Navin Johnson was working in a gas station, " He hates these cans. Stay away from the cans! "

You can keep your big funnel. A big dipstick is all that matters.

Correction: It's the VSOT and MLEP bottles that screw into my Honda valvecover. They do make nice funnels.
