Yes it does depend. But Phoenix is a ton hotter than Flagstaff, and that's where the tire aging issues are. Oregon is not noted for it's tire aging issues. Neither is northern California. Southern California, especially near the Mojave desert is a different story.

I would have some worry driving 10 years on a set of tires west of the Cascades. No way I’d go past 6 on the east side. Things just seem to age faster there. Except for Bend where everything’s new.

I would likely run them longer and I'm conservative on tire replacement ( I replace early)

They were installed 11-2018 so 7 years in service, 2 years in a climate controlled warehouse.

Yeah. Climate counts for a lot. In DC/Maryland where it’s 100F consistently on the blacktop and 6 weeks per year below freezing day and night, 5 years is the max and after that it’s just borrowed time. If your region of OR is more temperate, it’s possible to stretch, as long as you aren’t towing and can handle the dynamics of a sidewall blowout. But how long is reasonable in a temperate climate, I don’t know. 5 years is my comfortable max - I see 65 mph daily.

I would start shopping for new tires but I wouldn't be in a hurry - Black Friday sales coming up.

I just did a price match at DT - planning on giving my son in law new tires for his minivan (4 kids all in cars seats/ booster)

I am going with Pirelli Scorpion AS +3 DT price is $215 per tire - before install disposal fee & tax -

Sam's has a doorbuster special, free installation and $100 instant rebate - 4 Pirelli Scorpion AS +3 (235 65 17) for $688 installed tax and fees out the door

Sent Sam's offer to DT "found it lower" - DT just gave me a price of $680 installed with tax and fees. $170 per tire.

So just a tire at DT $215 they will price match Sam's club and sell me the same tires for $170 installed.

How can you beat that??

Thanks everyone for your posts! I will take a look at Black Friday sales and see if anything pops up of interest. I found some Nexen Rodian ATX for a great price at Walmart, may see if Discount Tire will price match. Likely going back to OEM spec P-metric instead of of LT, really only tow 3 or 4 times a year, 4000 lbs, 150 miles max each way from home. Don't see a need for E rated and C rated LT is nearly none existent.

DT will match -

I have not done it but my understanding is if DT matches a lower price and that tire has a rebate - online or mail in (not instant) you can take the lower price match at DT and still get the rebate.

May be worth starting at DT - see what tires have a rebate - find them cheaper somewhere get DT to match get rebate as bonus.

If the wet grip is still good, then I would run them still. But if you get new ones, I would think you could get some decent money for the old tires, or give them away, as I'm sure lots of people are running on tires much worse than those!
