The "age" old question. Tires, installed new at Les Schwab in November of 2018, DOT date July 2016. Very small cracking visible in tread grooves and some also on sidewalls near rim. LT265/70R17 C Back Country, on 2005 GMC Sierra 1500. Still decent tread, truck primarily used around town, occasionally tow travel trailer in summer. Replacement time? Or since i don't put many miles on it, a couple more years of life?

Towing a travel trailer... that alone would be what would get me to replace them. And that's probably why I'll replace the tires on my truck sooner than I would otherwise...

I'd run those. That's a lot of tread life left.

Even brand new tires aren't immune to road hazards.

Keep your spare aired up.

Now if they had cupping wear and they're noisy, I'd understand wanting to change them out.

Run them. Macro photos are scary. We didn't analyze our tires like this before good camera-phones.

If you were to dismount these tires (don't), you'd see the inner liner is fine. Heck, the outer side is fine.

Your call. Check for Black Friday deals this year or next year.

They are at their end of service life, but I would run them as long as you don't tow. I wouldn't use them on a long trip though. Good enough for low speed around town drives. Plenty of meat left on the tread. Too bad you didn't get the chance to wear them out.
