Tire purchase cost and timing

At 5/32 I'm looking for new tires. I never let them get down to the wear bar. I always get the very best tires with softest compound I can afford. On my 4 wheeled vehicles 3 peak rating. Every once in a while a rebate comes along and I'll take advantage of it.

Because l am a bit overcautious l bought the CC2 from discount tire yesterday. I had them replace the tpms sensors with oems that bought since they were the originals(14 years old). They ended up beating Costco price, l paid $702 out the door.

Walmart.com is a good place to find tires and finding kind of a diamond in a rough I found 235 4019 Dunlop blue Earth tires regularly price 223 were priced at 105 and then at $18 per tire for installing balancing cost 533 ordered them on Thursday. Just got them installed today on Saturday at the Walmart that they delivered them to..

Those aren't a particularly cheap tire size either. I was looking at upsizing my Mazda to that size but I couldn't save money. That's a pretty good deal! This is the kind of deal that keeps me from just buying whatever tire is on sale at Costco that month (unless I need tires asap).

You definitely have to persistently search their website at Walmart.com… often put tire size in the filter as opposed to vehicle compatibility as you get more options…after I found this deal… I showed to my wife who controls money and she transferred money for the purchase, and I initially couldn’t find the deal again and ended up typing in the name and tire size in google with Walmart tires and then it came up again…I was seriously thinking of downsizing the wheels from 19 to 17 and get a tire-wheel package at Tirerack… but that is still an expensive option…just got these tires on… initial impressions they are quiet-had Continental dws-6 could have ran out a bit longer had about 42000 miles in them… but one tire was noticeably less tread depth and they all have been extremely loud the last 7000 miles give or take…no hydroplaning on these dunlops… feel balanced smooth… would say they likely won’t be as good at braking as Continental… I drive a lot and 125000 on 2023 accord hybrid… the Dunlop has 80 k warranty-will be happy with 50-60 k… starts with 11/32 tread depth… and fairly new tire just released December 2025… the summer version of this tire got good reviews on British tire review…

You either need tires or you don't. If you are looking at your tires and think it's time, it's time. And if you get in a wreck or someone gets hurt because you put off buying tires, well that's more expensive literally and emotionally than just pulling out that credit card and buying them now.
