Getting new tires this week for the suburban. (2013 1500 LTZ)

Falken WildPeak AT3w 275/55R20
I have this tire on now and love em. So replacing in kind.

Question: current ones are XL (extra load)
I was working to get Discount Tire to price match. Found em $45 cheaper per tire from AMZN. They will match the price. Cool.
However the ones they are matching are not XL.

We don't tow with it. It's my wife's daily driver.

I will try to get the same discount price on the XL's, but the price-match was for standard load.

Is there major advantages to XL?
It is certainly my preference, but not sure it's worth $45/tire plus the small discount for purchasing Tire Certs (based on tire cost)

Thoughts?
Thanks

Are you getting the same tire? Falken doesn't list a non XL option in the size you mention.

If the load rating is at or higher than the placard, then you should be fine.

Yes, exact same tire. AMZN didn't mention XL.

Here is response from DT email price match.
"We would be more than happy to also offer you the FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T3W P 275 /55 R20 117T -26538 at $246.68 each* to earn your business business."

Should have checked like you did.
Falken lists the size with 117T as XL.

Funny part is when I called to schedule, the local DT sales rep said it was not XL, but "Standard Load"

So the price match should be for the XL.

Thank you.

I would prefer the XL's, but if they were $180-200 more for the set, would have considered the SL.
But the marshmallow comment would likely sway me to pay the difference.

Moot now as it appears the tires quoted or in fact the XL.

Thanks for your all's assistance

Even if its not a 2500 Suburban, its still pretty heavy/big. Good choice to keep/stay with what you know.

DT put on the XL rated Falken tires.
Price match saved $46 per tire
Discount credit card 5% off
Military Discount 5% off,

Saved me a few hundred. I typically use the 0% card and pay it off before the promo period.

I really like these tires and glad I got the XL's.

Thanks for your input folks.
