i never wanted to admit it, but about 12 years ago i bought a 87 Mercury Grand Marqie, it had 75,000 miles. When I just got the car, I shot the straw into the plenum, tried for days to get it out. I drove that car for about 6 more years and sold it at 225,000 miles. It ran great the whole time...

How about driving it to the top of a hill, putting it in reverse before letting it coast down forward, and then letting out the clutch at around 25 mph, with the gas pedal pressed down all the way? This should cause the engine to pump air backwards, and might force the straw back out the throttle body.











And then check your calendar.

This is standard procedure when I get a rental.
