It's all that AC....I must have too much time on my hands
Pretty much. Adjusted the carb and it isn't quite as rich, but it's about a gallon an hour. So yeah, at a 1.75 gallon tank, I'm pretty much maxed out driving around the corner and mowing 3/4 acre at a slow pace. Single cylinder Kohler's aren't known for fuel efficiency.Nice picture...
I have 1971 Wheel Horse I used since new. Is the JD a gas hog?
Got a Wheel Horse catalog when I was a kid and remember it to this day (~1997). They were outstanding machines, every bit the rival of Deere.Nice picture...

I used that tractor everyday as a gocart and entertainment machine. In my youth I mowed the entire neighborhood with it and this was country. Still original with no rebuild. Kohler ball bearing motor.Got a Wheel Horse catalog when I was a kid and remember it to this day (~1997). They were outstanding machines, every bit the rival of Deere.
Got an hourmeter or estimation of how many hours you've put on it? Original engine/trans? That's quite the accomplishment in garden tractor terms.
SLOWAbout to make 60 bucks!! Even if it takes an hour.. with me, more like 40 minutes!!View attachment 175485
Someone had to say somethingSLOW
DOWN
That is not your car. So, quit wailing on it.
Treat it gently, and maybe it won’t blow up like every single other car you’ve ever driven.
If you’re going to drive for a living, you have to stop destroying the cars, or you will always be broke. You will never break the cycle.
No cars destroyed here, thanks. No "wailing." This is a widely reported conspiracy theory and I mean at this point just say whatever you want I'm okay.SLOW
