I have had that happen twice. Once one of my shelves got soaked and buckled from it. After about two years those containers are unreliable.
I believe I figured this one out....went to buy some more last week as they go on sale $0.79 and my wife wants them.

I squeeze them lightly as I put from shelf to cart, to make sure they don't become wet, and many allow water to come out!

I got 12 that seemed good, and 4 leaked when I put them in my trunk!

What I've concluded? The caps are not even on tight nor will they become tight. They, like oil and quart containers of fluids, spin and spin, tight, then pop, loose. I think that's what the problem is. AND, cap is not broken when they do that....

Oh wow, I love that Borgward Isabella (1954-1952). I have one in 1/87 (H0) scale. And that's an Opel Kapitän behind the Borgward. I have that also in 1/87,

My dad once had a Borgward. Don't remember the year or model. It was a 4 speed on the tree shift. It was a kind of neat car.
