I wanted some opinions on this laptop. Seems like an usually good price so I am a little suspicious. I am looking for something to replace my current laptop (a 1.2Ghz, 2GB, 30GB) which has some bad spots on the hard drive and is running very slowly. I will mostly use basic functions such as office, Coreldraw, Firefox etc. No gaming. Used 99% for work.

Here it is, I would get the 4GB RAM flavor:

That's a lot of money for such an old laptop. You can pick up that similar model, also "refurbished" for $150 on e-bay.

With that said, as long as you didn't get the Nvidia Quadro cards, they were rock solid computers.

thats not really cheap.

you can get a brand new with sandybridge celeron.. for ~~279$ to 300$

Looks like everyone agrees so far.

I hate to be the guy who seems to not be able to use google, but where do I find a better deal? Checking out ubid right now. Amazon seems to be largely similar to the one I posted already in terms of price for hardware.

I have refurbed a D630 for my niece. Three gigs RAM, WIN7 and Office 10. She loves it and it is just that bit smaller than a 15.6 in laptop.

I'd get on ebay and see what's there in HP, Toshiba or Asus.
Fry's Electronics here sells new laptops with win8 for $299 that are fully loaded.
If you "HAVE" to have a dell, then I'd get on ebay.

A little more than that. April 2014.
