Thoughts on Ford 2.0 Ecoboost

Your SUV will be heavier than my wife’s Fusion but in the Fusion the 2.0 is far from a dog. It does prefer premium fuel though. You’re still under warranty, have you had the lack of power documented by the dealer?
Dealership trips are a waste of time around here.

They should still be able to document it with Ford. Once that's done, you can likely speak directly with Ford/Lincoln about the issue.

I had purchased my wife an MXK when they were newly released. The Lincoln service was FAR better than the basic Ford care. Hope it's still the same or similar for you now.

I doubt there's an issue. I'm just comparing the 2.0EB to the 290hp 3.6L pentastar in throttle feel. I'd expect a massive difference.

Gotcha. The ecoboost engines are deceptively torquey in the low & midrange but tend to "lay over" at the top end. When comparing a 3.5eb to the na 6.2 in my F150, I much prefer the 6.2 but will say the 3.5eb has it beat throughout the majority of the power curve. The 6.2 only really edges the eb out at the top end of the curve.

Found this with the 6.2 plotted on a 3.5 vs 5.0 graph:

Your larger Pentastar should respond similar to what is shown above just on a different scale when compared to the 2.0EB.

The Taurus was based on the P2 derivative, the D3 platform. It’s partly why I was really wanting to get a Taurus. The Fusion was based on the CD3/CD4. The CD4 platform was well rated safety wise, I wonder if it was derivative of the P2/D3 platform.
I'm living proof that the Taurus can take one heck of a hit and you'll survive. I was t-boned at unknown speeds by an equal size vehicle in my car went airborne and skidded sideways. I sustained injuries unfortunately that I still deal with today partly because of the obnoxiously tall center console. Trying to escape one of those cars with the high belt line can be a challenge If the door won't open on the side that wasn't hit. I'm not an obese person by any means. And I couldn't get out of it after the wreck.
