We went to the dealer yesterday, and placed our order. The sales manager wanted us to drive what was in stock, since we said we haven't driven the 2021+. good sales technique, no pressure, come back with the vehicle I'll be here (although tank was low), and who knows maybe it turns into an impulse buy of what's on the lot. Premier 5.3 with gray interior which looks white in person.
As I was backing in after driving it, there was a gathering, as if maybe they thought I'd clip a post. 360 view made it a breeze.
Apparently the google maps, part of OnStar is free for 8 years. Believe it or not, I could not figure out how to use the rear AC without using the physical rear console. Sales mgr. showed me so I get it, there are tiny icons with a subtle difference to indicate front, rear, etc.
There are quite a lot of familiar GM ways of doing things, but of course 2025 is another level when compared to our last new car (Enclave) from 2011.
We went High Country with one single option, the High Country deluxe package. Supposed to be straightforward. List minus discount. They added another $500 educator discount due to my wife. Add $477 doc fee, sales tax, and tags. Supposedly no additional fees.
The 72.6 cu ft with 3rd row folded is something that "makes" the vehicle for me. That is huge. We are used to the Enclave's 66, and having only one child, almost always drove with 3rd row folded.
The next time we buy a new car, I'll be in a walker (we try to keep our cars 15 years minimum). Sad, but funny as I type today
edit p.s. got curious on what the hitch would look like. The Enclave didn't come with one, so I installed it and the cover had to be permanently off, which was not a big deal. I'd be curious if on these, do folks leave the cover off. imho a bike rack would be a common use....found this video
