Thickest 5w30 (11 plus at 100c)

Is 0w40 thinner than 5w30 at let's say 32F? This will be ideal for this summer but I am worried about next Winter.

40C (104F) Viscosity

Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 - 72.8 cSt

Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 - 70.8 cSt

M1 FS 0W-40 is already thinner at 104F than M1 ESP 5W-30.

FS is about 4% thicker at that point than a typical ILSAC 5W-30 where as ESP is about 7% thicker.

Can these oils ever be compared at 32F?

I can't directly answer the question but if 0W-40 FS is 1 cSt thicker at 100C and already 2 cSt thinner at 40C it's a safe bet that it's going to be thinner at 0C (32F).

Normally viscosity specs are disclosed at 100C and 40C. The cold temp is already indirectly disclosed by it's W rating.

If the 40C isn't listed you can calculate it using the VI.

There will be zero difference at that temperature. And unless your winter includes temperatures below -25F (or colder) then it won't make a difference then either.

You beat me to it. This is the way you get a thicker oil.
I'm not the op, but going from my own experience buying oils on sale it's a lot easier finding 5w30 than anything thicker. I also prefer a thicker oil for my 200k mile 4.8 gm in my work truck.

Is gas truck “all mileage” equal to high mileage?

Based on this product and comparing it to other SOPUS oils, I'm interpreting "all mileage" to mean it has some seal conditioning qualities but likely a bit less than a dedicated "high mileage" oil.
SOPUS labels typically rate the seal conditioning qualities of their oils with a 0 to 3 star (or check mark) rating. Some of the ratings on the backs of their bottles:
PYB, PP, PUP: No stars
QSGB: One star
QSUD: Two stars
PHM, PPHM, QSHM: Three stars.

Others have noted that on paper RGT appears somewhat similar to QSUD, so it stands to reason that the two may be similar in their seal conditioning ability as well.

Seems M1 vanilla 0w40 is a good candidate!

It's not really Vanilla. It's a Wolf in Sheep's Clothing. It's still an ACEA A3/B4, Porsche A40, MB 229.5, VW 502/505 and would likely still be a BMW LL01 if they hadn't had the recent update that kicked pretty much all the 0W-40 off the list. It's actually still one of the best values in oil.

Several of my Buddy's use it instead of shear prone MC 5W-50 in their GT500 since they come out of the sump essentially the same viscosity. I have toyed with the idea of using it in my GT but am pretty happy with 10W-30 (Since it never sees temps below freezing, The Michelin Summer Tires are kind of slippery with 700 bhp below 40F anyway.
