Haven't used this site in a while. They used to operate under (region)gasprices.com but now I have to go to gasbuddy.com.

And they added a bunch of layers of crap to see prices. To see a map I have to install an extension in my browser. Nope!

Someone sold out and became a millionaire, I hope.

So what's the next good version of this?

Edit, for now I open google maps and search for "gas prices".

I just Googled it here and there were zero issues. I have the option of choosing my city/town and there it is, just like it has always been.

Nope is right - an extension isn't needed (unless you're using some outdated browser/OS ??). I entered my zip code, clicked "Find", then clicked the "Map" button and got a map.

I only use the phone app since I'm usually already on the road when I need gas, the phone app has gotten a bit clunkier, but still works as I need.

Aren't these sites reliant upon user-updated information? If not updated every day, I would think they would display old prices.

Phone app only now. They've added so much unnecessary things to it. it's made it a bit more labor intensive just to get what I need.

The site continues to work fine. No issues with our regional site names (twincitiesgasprices and minnesotagasprices) they work just fine. Nothing different on the maps or other issues. Odds are your browser and plugin are out of date if you are having problems.

FWIW, I have no problems pulling up mainegasprices and pulling up maps from there.

It varies by location/region, but a posted gas buddies price without update is good for 36 hours in my area. Some lower volume places do 48 hr max.

Yes, the gas price info is manually entered. There is one regional chain - Speedway - that works with Gasbuddy and inputs their gas price info. Not sure if they simply have employees who do it or if they have a 'connection' (a direct interface, i.e. API, to the GB system).

In my experience, there are a lot of users, more than people realize, or there are dedicated users, because all of the stations in my area that are on well-traveled roads always have up-to-date info. Even if our small town, the two nearby stations on a state route, were updated 3 hours ago. It's a weekend too so I notice less activity then.

A few stations input prices regularly around me. But some are not accurate! BP is pretty good now with an update every hour 24/7. They use to play games though with the diesel fuel price and always show a lower price on GB instead of the sign. Could be confusion over the credit and cash price.

Gasbuddy still works fine for me

The Gas Buddy app uses geolocation which tracks you wherever you go. Gas Buddy in turn sells this information to others.

Not something I would use.

If you let it.

True, but if you don't let it it won't work, right?
I just find it easier in my case to use Kroger rewards and save that way.
