Ahh, the good ol' days of having a Schlitz in one hand and a blonde in the other while driving 80MPH without seatbelts.

Ahh, those WERE the days...

If any of you guys remember the Ford LTD commercials from that time that claimed the LTD was quieter riding than a RR Silver Shadow, you'll notice that this SNL skit was a spoof of those commercials.

I remember both the commercial and the skit. The commercial was a jeweler being able to properly cleave a rough diamond in the back seat while driving over rough roads because the car's ride was so smooth. The skit was a spoof of this commercial.

Neighbors wife still bumps to work in one of those beasts. Thing about that old iron is they can lose 2 cyl's and keep running on 6 for years. Lose compression on just 1 on a 4 cyl or v6 and they run so bad you can't drive em.

Yup, that's the one.

That Grenada commercial capitalized on a real story where a policeman mistook the car for a Mercedes when he was writing up a parking ticket. Considering the sophistication of some policemen, it didn't shock me.
