The Crosstrek is a capable car, very well priced in "premium" trim. But they are getting more than a bit silly and consumers are eating it up. Come on Subaru, Why wilderness? That's what the crosstrek is for You jack this up even further them CV joints ain't going to last 30K miles. They (the fronts) are usually toast at 80K on this car

Just a trend, don't buy it if you don't like it. Buddy had a 4Runner "Night Shade", another buddy with a new Ram Limited 1500 with the blackout package. Audi does black packs...heck...in 2013 I could have gotten my Focus with a black pack. Been around a while. I like black wheels/black trim in some uses, not a fan of lots of cladding on cars though like the obnoxious Subarus for all the "I'm going overlanding bro" crew. Here are my black wheels that I run my all seasons on. Black bits on white cars look cool to me. They may not look cool to you...so don't run them.
