Hello, What aftermarket thermostat would you choose between Stant Superstar or Motorad Ultrastat or go Oem?

OEM is first choice with stant being no 2. I'll never use another motorad. I had a new one that I installed that wouldn't open and overheated the vehicle. Learned my lesson and now I watch them all open in a pot of water before I install regardless of brand.

Asian cars absolutely OEM. Others IDK.
I figure if the OEM part lasted a long time and worked well, why change horses in the middle of the stream?

OEM, In the past few weeks I wasted time and money on a Gates thermostat and a Motorad thermostat for my 2012 Honda Fit. Had incorrect coolant temperatures and wide temperature swings with both aftermarket parts. It boggles my mind how their quality control can be so poor. The OEM thermostat facilitated a quicker warm-up and spot on cruising temperature.

The motorad ones all the stores sell are garbage. They never open @ the same temp. They fluctuate all over.

Stant is ok. Oem is best but watch out as I bought an oem for my Jeep a few weeks ago and it was a motorad in the jeep box. I found an oem ford one that fits instead.

Guess jeep no longer sells the good Jeep stat.

OEM . might cost a bit more but worth it
The problem with OEM is while it may be the same manufacturer who makes the OE it may or may not be OE quality.
The only way you know for sure is if you buy it from a dealer.
GM and I am sure other companies have strict rules about using OEM eg Delco parts that are pro line and not OE, yes Delco is the OEM but the quality is very different.
