Another Motorad 195° thermostat failure

For what its worth I did order the Aisin for my Ram with 5.7 and it looks good to me. Made in China, but definitely not a motorad..
You don't trust the Facet thermostat?
I'm inclined to trust Facet over Aisin, since the Aisin is probably Chinese (the Facet is made in Italy), but either should be better than Motorad
So you are not interested in the NOS Stant I posted earlier from eBay?
That is exactly what happened to mine, the fail-safe indeed failed in the open position after maybe 3 days tops.

Never buy anything motorad. I never had good experience with any of their parts, and if you look online, I’m not the only one hating on Motorad.
OEM thermostats are the way to go. Gates is the same garbage in my opinion. They don’t seem to last, and I always got temp fluctuations with motorad and gates thermostats within 3 months after install. They just get stuck or don’t operate properly. Then when I install an OEM thermostat, it always works very well just like the factory spec, and it works great for many many years.

I'm finding that as well. I replaced the thermostat in my cavalier a year ago and if I accelerate quickly while cold outside I can watch the temp guage drop. Same thing for a hot day in stop and go. It climbs but doesn't seem to do well. Very disappointing as previous stant thermostats especially their premium ones were built like a tank.
A year ago I replaced the thermostat in my cavalier with what I was told was a premium stant at Advance Auto parts. It was a Motorad and is already showing signs of a weak spring.

Honestly, I don't think the Chinese Aisin will be a problem
And of course, someone else in this thread has that exact same Chinese Aisin in post #27 that has been good so far
