Like I get it, but it gets old. Especially on things we sell a fair amount of. Like the ABS sensor that was on the diff housing of trucks and vans for years is obsolete now.
I've always gone with the stant superstat from Napa. However I recently picked one up from Napa and while it was heavy duty and said stant stamped on it didn't come in the blue and yellow superstant box, just a gray napa box.
We are seeing more and more Ford ones coming up as obsolete. The 3.0 Vulcan ones for the Rangers updated to a new number then went obsolete. It is a roll of the dice with what I can get aftermarket.
Is E5TZ8575C part number still showing available? Its the stat for the 6.9 and 7.3 IDI diesels. The OEM stat is the only one that seems to work in these engines. Guy have had all kinds of issues with aftermarket ones.

Dealer OEM only. A small price difference is easier to pay for than a warped head or being stranded on the side of the road in a Texas summer with an overheated car.
