Where is it ??
The top rad hose goes back to the block at the front and has the burp screw in it on a small housing. I don't think the thermostat is under that small housing ??!!??
The lower rad hose goes to the back of the block into an octopus looking housing with hoses and sensors etc. A real mess. Is the thermostat inside there ??
I always thought the thermostats were in block where the top rad hose fits. Did they throw me a curve on this one ??
Thanks in advance for any help.

If memory serves, your thermostat should be located next to the distributor.

Good luck! Make sure you go with factory OE thermostat. Yeah, it costs a bit more but none of the Hondas I've serviced/owned have experienced premature thermostat failure past 100,000kms....

Papa Bear,

I just wanted to add, I use an autorad thermostat. It is supposed to fail in the open position. If it works, it is good protection for the Honda's aluminum engine.

LOL! I personally can only tolerate RobertShaw and Stant. I have far too many failures with MotoRad to the point where I no longer consider using them at all (and you think a fail-safe thermostat really gonna stay open??? How many of you folks experienced thermostat that fail to open causing overheating?)

Sorry Papabear, I don't buy into MotoRad at all.

This is just my thoughts on the subject. YOur mileage shall vary from one to another.

We use Motorad stats at my shop and they seem to be pretty good. Out of all the ones I have installed over the years I have only had 1 go bad(that I know of).

Got one in my Jeep now.

I have been using the Autorad thermostat for many years, never encountered a problem. It won't last forever, it should be changed every two years.
