TWC should be renamed TCC, The Commercial Channel. It's hard to find weather with all the commercials on this station. They must be making money selling all that advertising each and every hour.

TWC web site is more informative and delivers on weather information.

web site is nice, but the pop ups are a killer....seems they have to commercial saturate that too, those flash animated full screen ads are ridiculous too

On the cable weather channel, the advertisers know that people tune in 'on the eights', and jam even more crud at us then, and even into the nines and tens.
If it's not advertising, it's the useless Storm Stories that preclude the actual weather and forecasts from being shown.
Commercials just went from 3 to 4 minutes average.
Add the infomercials and cable is 70% commercials.

I haven't seen an pop up from WC.com in a long time, I use Firefox with the adblock extension. Would the Google bar block those pop ups in IE?

mechtech, for those of us with satellite TV, the local on the "8's" doesn't contain any local forecast info, rather it has a generic overview of major cities and some maps.

So, from the "6's to the "10's" is dead broadcast time IMO. The "top" of the hour starts at 53 minutes after the hour with only miniscule info until 55 minutes, then the vicious afforementioned cycle starts all over again. Unless, they replay storm stories for the hundreth time.

Locally, channel 2 in Nashville broadcasts a secondary HD channel at 2.2 over the air that's 24x7 weather. Within 5 minutes, you get radar, 7 day forceast and the immediate forecast. TWC should take notes from them.

I have friends that work at TWC. You can see one of them in the background on occasion. The building is right down the street from me.

Yeah, NBC started a weather service "NBC Weather Plus" last summer.

A lot of local affiliates put it on a digital sub-channel. Their weather guys do local cut-ins. Free and in the clear, who needs cable?

Only thing the weather channel is good for is their hour-by-hour precipitation forecasts on their website. The local TV yokels say "rain on your morning commute"... but my commute is at 4:45am.

We have a local weather channel. Apparently it's the feed that TWC uses when they do the local forcast. It runs perpetually. No commercials...they may run a moving ad bar along the bottom ..(thinking

Since I don't do any travelling ...anywhere..I can live with that.
