The Walmart Pennzoil shortage.

I remember recently there were posts about hardly any Pennzoil Conventional at Walmart stores. The ones here are the same,only a few bottles left. BUT,I notice it`s all the older formula. Could it be they`re making room (and trying to deplete their old stock) for the new labeled Pennzoil?

same here. The shelf doesn't look like it has been restocked recently. They moved all the high milage and Ultra to the end of an aisle display.

All the Wal-Marts here have HAD the new labeled conventional for at least a month in all weights.

The 5w30 was out when I went to one store the other day. I think there is a shortage in Walmarts chain for conventional Pennzoil. Either they are selling a lot of it and can not replace it or they are not making a lot of it.

here there is plenty of pennzoil ultra it does not seem to be selling

At my local WalMart, most available grades are in the new GF-5 specification Pennzoil bottles and jugs.

Outside of NYC, Pennzoil seems to be very popular, so it's probably selling faster than they can restock it, especially with the new bottles. In NYC, Castrol is all the rage.. Can't go three feet without passing a banner somewhere..

Yep sounds about right. I've been in the "business" field for quite some time, when production creates a "new" package - they want to "thin out" the old stock before shipping out the "new" bottles, or people will simply ONLY buy the "new" product design/bottles....makes sense, the customer wants the "freshest" stock available....

I've been to my local Walmart and yea, they've been constantly rotating their oil stock to clear out the "old" stock of Pennzoil conventional....I've yet to see any qts of Pennzoil conventional....the dpt manager said something their kinda "shuffling stock" around to clear out all the older stock (the old Pennzoil conventional) out of the warehouses to make room for the new Pennzoil conventional.

My local Walmart though is stocked full of Pennzoil conventional qts (old bottle) and the new Pennzoil conventional jugs. Though, I noticed yet another "redesigned" High Mileage "jug" on their shelf of 10w30 - had me confused....since I don't have a camera, I tried looking online for a pic of any sort, but couldn't find any, the sticker had a greenish hue/tint to it though....
