The South remains the largest gainer in migration.

I've been Illinois for life but almost all of my family has left Illinois for Indiana, Georgia, Florida, New Mexico and Colorado. Not sure I'll ever move but at least I got some vacation spots.

One of my favorite self gratification monuments is a plaque where a tort lawyer made a donation to a hospital - only it fails to mention how many others he sued - and hard 👀
Well, guess he had to be on one whitelist 😷
Exactly, this is one of the reasons credentialling organizations have to design protocols which doctors have to stick to. Because if they go outside of these recommended procedures they could get sued. There are so many steps to caring for someone that anyone in the chain of care could screw it up and it usually falls in the doctors or hospital's head even if they weren't involved. It has created a culture of defensive medicine, where the priority is often avoiding a lawsuit rather than purely focusing on the best patient outcome in some cases.

Some argue AI will solve this but that could be decades away when looking at how fast change happens in a hospital pretty much fairy tale Star Trek Imagineering at this point.

Ultimately you have to be proactive and responsible about your own care which means you have to have some level of knowledge or the capability and desire to research your own problems.
