The Roadster Factory Fire
Terrific loss to the Brit car community. I've been customer on and off since 1982 when Dad and I rehabbed what would be my first car, a TR6.
TRF is (was?) founded and run by Charles Runyan (passed in 2018) and his family. He was a passionate supporter of the hobby and seemed to be a genuinely nice person, having met him at a few events.
Charles and TRF led the reproduction of many, many unavailable parts and, if nothing else, I will forever admire them for this one business practice; if a new production part was not of an acceptable quality, but the only one currently available, they would clearly state so while other vendors would not; 'While the quality of this part is not what we hoped, it is the only new part available at this time...'
He also had a few very rare Triumphs which I hope survived. Sad...
