Take a look at this and see if you still think he has altruistic intentions:

Can of Vintage Havoline Oil

With a few days left in the auction, the bids are still going up!

Dang! I want that! I have a few old bottles and cans but the oil is long gone.

Fxrider, let us know how it goes. The price they're getting here now works out to 2.69 a qt, which is pretty good to start with so if you get it cheaper that will be great.

Has anyone tried the latest Chevron-Havoline 5w30 and noticed a difference when compared to the recently obsolete Havoline 5w30 (SN)? I suspect it's just a label change, but with the recent demise of Chevron Supreme who knows what the Corporate HQ might have changed for their remaining PCMO.

I loved the look of that packaging! I wish I had kept a few of the bottles.

Not bad.

I was at the Chevron station today and all their oil looked like that bottle. No more blue bottles. They even had 2 stroke oil.

Interesting---I'm going to see if some of the retailers up here north of you can stock the stuff. Definetly would give it a try.

A lady was at the auto counter in wal-mart when I went to buy an extra oil jug and some shop towels for an oil change. She had a couple quarts of havoline in her hand and she was checking out in TLE. She started raving about how she's used Havoline all these years and it's the best oil ever. She had to be about 70 or so. I almost chimed in but I was around the other side of the counter and didn't want to butt in.

Anyways, I thought that was cool. Tried and true!

As I said in an earlier post, there are a lot of generations that have used Havoline. I know that people rely on oil analysis and all of the technical jargon to choose an oil, (I'm just as guilty), but nothing speaks like experience and generation upon generation have taken a liking to Havoline; so that has to account for a lot also.
