Dad's friend brought home a new 62 Chrysler Imperial convertible, took us for a ride. I remember the smell and feel of that wonderful interior. The cars common when I was in high school in the early 60's were vw's, ford falcons, first year mustangs, corvairs, and station wagons with fake wood for the parents.
I worked with a guy who bought a new Shelby Cobra, 64 or 65, those are worth a fortune now. Another friend bought a new 67 Austin Healey 3000, remember it well first day he got it. Absolutely gorgeous thing. Was about 3k then, a lot for a car.
Today it isn't the same in any way. Today classic cars are all about how much money can I make on it from what I paid for it.
