Well I work in a warehouse/office setting. I mainly stay in the office though.

Been working here for a long time so when I say the person in question is an idiot I've known them long enough to make that observation.

Boss's wife has worked here for years, makes her own schedule so she comes & goes as she pleases. After all she is the boss's wife. She went from not driving to getting her license in 2003. She drove an older car, then bought a 2004 Blazer and complained up & down about fuel economy. She flipped it once driving to fast for conditions one morning, claims she hit black ice. I've been in the car with her, she speeds everywhere, all the time. Somehow they got the state trooper to drop the ticket for "too fast for conditions" even though if she was going the speed limit she would have been fine. Ins. repaired it.

Always had money problems at least the ones I knew about because as I said she worked when it was convenient for her. Her husband(Boss) made it a point to make her pay for her car or as he referred to it "spending money".

Just recently she bought a new 2010 Malibu mostly to save on fuel and because the Blazer was trashed(mostly from her I'd bet). As far as I could tell she seemed to like it a lot then one morning I see her pull up in an older Envoy. I had an Envoy and hated it after a year. So I can't wait to hear her complain about gas.

She always said she "needs" an SUV for the winter. I quote "the roads are undrivable without one, people with cars should stay home." Ya I made it around fine with a car for 4 years even on unplowed streets.

Now I heard her talking this morning because gas is going up she is going to park the SUV in the summer and get another car.

Idiot is the nicest word I can think of right now. I don't even want to the know the hit she took for trading in a new 2010 car.

It's amazing the money people throw away on cars. It's also amazing how terrible people are driving in snow. I bet there is a strong correlation.

Car salesmen love these "idiots'

The husband must be "tolerating" her so as not to loose 50%+ of his wealth?

OTW dont fret such not-uncommon silliness, unless you feel you can alter the behavior with success - That's a barren row I wouldn't hoe ....

I would try not to think about how the boss and his wife are dumb as posts, even if they are... I'd find another hobby at work than listening to her or keeping track of their wasteful spending. Even if you are a valuable employee, if she picks up a bad vibe from you, it could end badly for you.

Actually, I suggest continuing to observe her situation. Cheap entertainment. Just don't give an opinion to keep your situation safe.

She's gone through four cars in seven years because of her flippant moods. I've known guys who would buy a different, and sometimes new car every couple years because they were bored with the old car. This gets expensive very quickly.

Oh, it can get interesting...that is for sure.

I have a neighbor who just got a 11 Cruze, at nearly 1200 bucks a month for like 5 years (Pretty sure he said 5)

If you have to ask....

To me that sounds like minor idiocy compared to all the other stuff I see. One of my favorite examples is that owners of Hummers were surveyed as being unhappy with their vehicles because of the mpg they were getting. What they really wanted I guess was a Hummer with a 4-cylinder Ecotec engine.

What the Heck? $1,200 a month? Did that guy roll all kinds of upside down debt into that loan or what? I'm surprised any bank would buy that paper.

Not to be flippant, but I would think 50% of one's assets would be a small price to pay to dissociate oneself from an insane person. Money can be made back a lot easier than sanity or dignity.

Or he's just pulling your chain.

She went from a Chevy blazer, GMC envoy, and now a Chevy Malibu in less than 7 years. At least, she's stimulating the economy and keeping the UAW working.

Ya I give no opinions, I just sit back, listen, & giggle.

Her husband treats cars as a tool, nothing more. He is the last person I'd ever see interested in oil!

She has been giving the UAW quite a stimulus you are right.

jackpot statement. Pin heads.
