I just bought some LC before the price hike. I noticed on teh bottle it's advertised to increase gas mileage! I have a big 660 mile drive to Chicago this weekend. I will drive there with the oil that is in the car. I will add 16 oz of LC before my return trip, and monitor MPG.

Will report back!

I'd add it on the 3rd tank. This way it will give it some time to start working.

For instance, on my trip to GA auto-rx started working after about 500 miles. The first 500 miles I had no difference in gas mileage.

FP will affect mpg more than LC will, we advertise LC to remove carbon and varnish and may help gas mileage, but there are just too many factors to say it will for everyone.

Also we do not recommend using the 16 oz flush doseage in such a way. Only for 15 minutes or so or before a trip to the shop.

Just wanted 2 add 2 things:

I have not experienced an increase in MGP from FP.

I will be here 4 several days. I Will add the LC and drive around 4 several days, so it'll be worked in by the time I start back.

So how much should I add?

It's about a 5.5 qt sump (with oversize filter). 2000 Camry V6

Lumberg,

The bottle does say that and it would be ok, but through Molakule's testing they recommend less.

The bottles are Odis recommendations and they were first used for older engines.

It would not hurt anything, but I would start off with 6 oz.

OK good to know

43254545343543, I ended up reading those threads when going to that other link.

Reading on here has led me to believe a lazy O2 sensor on my Camry, but it will still be a valid test, in that all other things being constant we will see if mileage does indeed improve.

LC may be a good cleaner. Personally I have had a better experience with AutoRx.

Higher doses of LC do increase metal in solution.

LC doesn't increase MPG, and if it did it would be either from decreasing the oil vis, cleaning the ring pack, or some other cleaning effect.

FP has increased MPG for me and lowered unmonitored knock in my turbo.

Same experiance here for LC. 3,000+ miles on LC in one car and no change in MPG.

I'm also using FP at the same time.
