The former German made Fram PH10600 oil filter...

has switched production to Mexico. It's used in some VW's and Audi's. I'm thinking the German made Fram was made by a third party. The German made Fram oil filters are Black while the Mexican made ones are orange. I will probably use the Mexican one on my next oil change. I wanna cut it open and compare it to other OCOD.

The same thing recently happened to the PH8994 for my Audi. They used to import the Mann 930/21 and paint the Fram stuff on them when the demand wasn't ample enough to support making them in house.

Now they deemed demand was sufficient that they started making them in house and now they're orange cans with nitrile ADBV. Oh, and the price went up 50%. Nice.

The PH10600 also crosses to GM's 3.6l V6, along with the PH10570.
