The Flower Passes Away

Saw many a game at the Spectrum as well. What a fantastic venue for hockey it was. It felt like the foundations were shaking when the fans were yelling. All my buddies and I skipped school and headed to JFK the day the Flyers had their parade.

I also remember watching The Flower, among others, from that great team. Sad to hear of his passing.
I remember that first Flyers' Cup in '74. It seemed amazing that an expansion club could beat the mighty Bruins.

Other small teams like the young at tel he time Oilers beat the Bruins.

I remember in the early 90’s when “badger Bob Johnson” was called the professor of goonism by Mike Milbury. We know what happened in that years Stanley Cup playoffs too eh 🙊🙊🙊

I have a great, large framed and signed photo of Phil E and Bobby O from 1971 that I plan on hanging in my office.

They were incredible together - the Hawks made a huge mistake in trading Espo to the Bruins.

That Bruins team was world-class from about '68 though '74. It's been argued they could have won five Cups in that span rather than just the two.

If they'd kept Bernie Parent in the expansion draft in '67 they would have been set in goal for the next decade.
