Kris Kristofferson has passed away

(y)I have the cd in my old car right now. I can not hear that song or album enough. It reminds me so much of my late dad who left us in 2008. I owe a lot to him. One of the gifts he gave to me was a love of all kinds of music. From old / new country to rock & roll and in between. Far too many other things to list. He was so happy when I gave him a Highwayman concert video as he got too old and ill to leave home or travel anymore.

I got to see Kris and Merle Haggard perform at the Fox theater in St. Louis on Ash Wednesday in 2011 and it was one heck of a show. My generation remembers Kris as the cool old guy who would fill up Blade's gas tank while smoking a cigarette in those movies while my mom's generation loved him as a singer.

May God grant him the kingdom ☦️

Did they do the song Honky-tonk Night time Man? The late great Ronnie VanZant insisted his Lynyrd Skynyrd band record and put their amazing version of that Merle song on the tragic Street Survivors album just before he was killed in the plane crash. Wife and I did at least get to see Skynyrd perform the entire Street Survivors album LIVE (including a couple other country music songs they re-did) in concert just a few months before their plane crashed. Love the song....
