RIP. He played a great villain and was an even better environmentalist.

My favorites:
Nighthawks
Blade Runner

The events of Blade Runner take places in 2019... and during that time, Roy Batty - Hauer's character - dies.
Rutger Hauer died in 2019...

Now THAT is freaky...wow.

BR was a bit off in predicting interstellar space travel, the development of manufactured superhuman slaves, and ubiquitous flying cars by the present time, but it was not ambitious enough in some other tech realms with the use of tiny CRT screens and no sign of cell phones. Still a great flick and one of my personal favorites.

Now the Hitcher might be worth watching as a memorial. Interesting movie.

Yeah, he plays a great psycho... the scene where C. Thomas Howell's character has to make that decision (trying not to be spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen it).. was a chilling scene.

He could play evil personified, and the 'good guy' with equal aplomb! RIP Rutger

He starred in a slightly obscure movie named "Split Second" where he was a cop and carried more weapons than the average Joe to the point of hilarity including a "Glock 50".

Always enjoyed his work...
