The Danger Ranger - 2003 Ford Ranger 2WD 3L 5spd

when your slave cylinder goes out you will say i was right. ford has their head up their rear ends now adays.
"Now adays", dude, the truck is 22 years old! 🤪

Do you think the boy can't spin a wrench? When I was his age I had the trans out of my 5.0L Mustang 3x, drag racing breaks stuff. When you buy a vehicle the same age as you are, you expect that you are going to have to work on it.

I'm not sure where the disconnect is here? I wasn't soliciting advice in this thread, but you decided to drop in and provide yours anyways, TWO YEARS after he bought the vehicle.

Furthermore, we are talking about a guy in his 20's. Maybe having to drop the trans is an "End Game" level event for you, but it's not for him.

I'm baffled by what value it is you think you are providing here?

Our sons are in the same situation, my son was born in October 2001 and his WRX is a 2002 model (which very likely could have been built in late 2001 so the two might be the exact same age). My son also has the skills to do a lot of work on his car, he’s more skilled than me! 🤪

To get it through a safety he ended up having to replace two of the frame crossmembers, you can see the one clearly, the other one is just under the edge of the cab there, you can see it if you look closely. They rot out where they meet the frame so he ordered replacements, pulled the bed, air chiseled the rivets out, got hardware at Brafasco and mounted the new ones:

As you can see, he's also replaced the leaf springs, brake cables and shocks (with a bit of help from dad).

I had a 93 ranger splash it was a tired little truck but never quit while I had it. Auto with the 3.0 liter. Had the typical short in the wiring harness which led to an inoperable fuel gauge and rear abs
