I think its hilarious when you see or find someone online or out in the world who years ago in school used to rag and pick on you for being overweight and they were "skinny" and "Better than you" or "enjoy this no where town, I'm going to college after high school"

I was that fat kid in school that couldnt pass math to save his life, but got by LOL

Few years later you see them and BAM the 125 lbs you lost now have attached itself to them, and then you talk to them and theyre like "Yeah you look great! I flunked out of college and now I am working as (insert Fast Food Chain here) what are you doing?"

oh em gee "Army in a few months"

Karma! ahaha!

Remember, nobody on this planet is better than you, you choose your destiny, you want to be someone and do something? Going to college and making 6 digits a year doesn't always make you the best and coolest cat on the clock

You can be a depressed millionaire
and you can be a happy minimum wage employee

this whole thing was brought on by a girl I saw today at DQ, in high school she was one of the "Preppy school spirit lets do everything and take out a loan to cover prom, grad, etc for 5-8k my senior year"

I was "big ol doofus that went to school in a used ford ranger, didnt go to prom, grad night at disney etc, spends 70$ on a cap and gown, graduates"

she was 140 ish
I was 315

shes now around 260 ish
im now around 190 LOL

hint:I graduated in 2010, its now 2012 lol

I graduated from a relatively small high school class and I've been to a few class reunions. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard somebody say they wish they were nicer to a few of the kids in high school. Yes, some of the cheerleaders do weigh twice as much as they did back then. Yes, some of the jocks are now bald, pot-bellied and have little or no wages. Some of the kids who were picked on back then still don't want anything to do with the class and won't acknowledge any of their classmates.
Too bad the kids that are in high school now don't have access to a time machine.

Good for you, I will have the same gratification in 3 years at my classes 5th year reunion, I cant wait to stick it to em.

My man, I so believe in the ol karma. I was always up n down weight wise in HS. I was a jock but 5'10" 190 freshman and 220 by grad (that was 90 YIKES). I was really good football but baseball was my thing. Piched against Mark Wholers (Braves closer during the glory decade). Lost 1-0.

I was varsity as a Freshman...drove a car w a friend to school at 13...ya, lucky never got arrested. Partied with all the older kids. Life was very good to me in HS and later on I went to UMASS and actually lived in an all girls school (Smith College) for 3 semesters.

My grandfather past away in Feb at 93. He always kept me grounded and constantly armend against being a bad guy. Said you just never know who you will need some day. NHeard it so much always just went ok...Golden rule from him was never screw anyone unless you absolutely have to. And then, if you must, be sure to take the head off caus if u dont it will come back an bite you later.

Well, now I'm 39 and I look back to so many people I've seen be nasty to others for no reason have had that dreaded karma come back to hit them 3xs as hard.

The old man hit the nail on the head with that one. Glad those who messed with you are getting what they deserve.

If it was wrong for them to disparage you then,it is wrong for you to disparage them now.

I'll bet much of the perceived trauma was in your head, not theirs.
They probably didn't give you much thought either way.

Maybe I'm wrong, sure won't bew the first or last...but I don't read OP as disparaging the now heavy cheerleader. Maybe relishing in it a bit. Shoe's on the other foot dealio. Sure he's chomping at the bit over it but he sure coulda been a lot rougher than what he posted.

IMHO there's a difference in hate and the AhhHa!! moment. COuld be wrong but I'm getting more of a "How does it feel" moment.

more ok a "Killing you with kindness" act.
do it all the time at work

convo went on with
"wow you look great have you been working out?" < me being a smart bottom

"yeah actually I have" < her

lol.

Gumby - you have every right to be proud of the weight you've lost...but I would not be bragging about the things that you have yet to accomplish. You're not Army yet, you're not through boot camp yet - those things are in your future...but let's not count chickens until the eggs have hatched...

No, it's called gloating, which is defined as "Contemplate or dwell on one's own success or another's misfortune with malignant pleasure".

While it's great that you've lost some significant weight, the odds are that you'll put it back on (along with a few additional pounds) in 4-5 years. That's when reverse karma kicks in and all those people over whom you're now gloating may very well have the last laugh.

+1. Nobody knows how many times the cycle will repeat.

And in the end, same or not, some decisions and actions are superior to others, so everyone needs to ensure they've got it figured out and are on the right path for themself at the right time.

Choosing actions of your own volition, ironically, *is* the definition of karma. People interjected a "what comes around goes around" element and a dimension of "right" and "wrong" in error. There is no supernatural element to karma; nor is there a judge determining what is right and what is wrong and who deserves what. Believing that "what comes around goes around" and "karma" are not in any way connected; although in most places the erroneous slang has usurped the real meaning!

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. No matter. Your definition perhaps fits Buddhism and Jainism, but I can assure you within the roots of Hinduism there is very much a supernatural element.

Nailed it on the head, again.

Life is a long road with many ups and downs with twists and turns as well...

I want to see people do well...the past is the past for a reason. This coming from a guy who got his share of picked on...
