here is my rates
Its usually double that. I'm on the fence about moving. Living in a freeier state would be nice but this house has been my home for 50 years.I'm locked in at 12 cents, I'd keel over if I got a $350 electric bill. You ever think of moving?
Yeah I pointed that out and got banned from a fb group. Texas being one of the leaders in renewable energy didn't seem to fit in with their fact free narrative. Go pay them visit called "moms clean air force". Nothing but a bunch of willfully ignorant Biden simps. It must be because Texas has the highest energy production using renewable energy of any state in the union.

I'm so confused by your post. Most Texans are so pro-oil that they are horrified to learn their state is one of the highest producers of renewable energy and that it is participating in the green economy and they usually deny it. However, it sounds like you waded into a pro-green energy FB group and they couldn't believe oil-lovers from Texas would be investing in green energy?Yeah I pointed that out and got banned from a fb group. It was pretty obvious none of the people in that group were from or have ever been to Texas. There's wind farms everywhere in texas. It's impossible to hide that Texas is a renewable energy leader.I'm so confused by your post. Again, just confused and looking for clarification...
As I said, the problem is I've pointed this out to several people who are from Texas and I was basically shut down and told that was fake news...lol. Pro renewable energy people can be just as dumb.As I said, the problem is I've pointed this out to several people who are from Texas and I was basically shut down and told that was fake news...lol. Sometimes you can't win...
Yep, Texas has lots of wind capacity. Since wind & gas pair incredibly well, and the REC's are basically free money, it's not surprising to see that take off as it has in state.I'm so confused by your post. What about the people that pick the wrong provider or circumstances change?
We had choice in CT. You could pick who provided electricity generation although your local electric company still charged for transmitting it to you (they charge that even if they are your provider). It did allow me to save money as my local electric company was one of the most expensive generators in the country 10 years ago. Now I have a municipal electricity company operated by the town and it’s awesome - I pay ½ what surrounding towns pay with the big electric company in the area since the town company is basically a non-profit that simply exists to serve the town citizens.People have a choice?
I've never lived anywhere with a choice.
My location determined who I pay.
All that PV & wind generation has to be backed up by a reliable generation source. That means online steam turbines with regulating reserves, same for combustion turbines or 15min quick start combustion turbines or hydro units. With the variability, you're also paying for the standby of more reliable sources.Yep, Texas has lots of wind capacity. That said, while Texas has a ton of wind, their emissions intensity is still higher than many other states, but it is at least trending in the right direction.
