Apparantly they think we don't charge at home? I get 28 to 30 MPH from 240V @ 32A.
Our car came with a cable and 2 NEMA adapters, 115V (wall plug) and 240V (14-50). I also bought the 3 prong older dryer adapter.
Electric reports Tesla will sell charging cables separately. Why?
Maybe I'll just keep mine when I get my next car.
Actually, I bet this decision doesn't last long. Or the aftermarket will step in.

What's to be expected from a company who thus far their entire profit model has been suckling the government teat. As more manufacturers get in the EV business and other manufacturers have less reason to purchase credits from Tesla, they'll actually have to profit off selling cars and accessories instead of waiting around for more government sanctioned handouts.

My Model 3 came with less stuff than yours, little things like console inserts and the 240 Volt adapter. And I preferred chrome door handles and trim around the windows like on the earlier models; chrome looks better with blue.

There were some improvements though. For example a heat pump and a wireless cellphone charger are significant improvements.

Considering the price increase and that the Model 3 no longer qualifies for incentives in Canada, the customer will be paying a lot more this year. Glad I bought when I did.

Perhaps check your sources of information. Tesla's profit margin is 29% (Porsche territory) and getting better; they are the envy of the industry.
Tesla never asked for any subsidy and other car companies are eleigible.

I have couple of gadgets with VERY short charging cables. For example my stupid kindle has also a 17" long cable so Jeff Bezos can visit the moon or the outer space or wherever it is that he goes for 5 minutes!
I can't surf in the bathroom if low on power cuz the cable is too short.

I don't think that really has anything to do with it.

Apple has the same idea, aren't their phone chargers even sold separately now?

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the "credits" that Tesla receives actually derived from other automakers paying into some kind of mandated carbon credits scheme ? And not paid by the taxpayers ?

TSLA will release their Q1 2022 earnings report tomorrow. Have a look at it and see how much of their profits come from credits and not from operating/manufacturing efficiency and other traditional ways profits are derived. I suspect the credits are a very small drop in the bucket and if done away with tomorrow, wouldn't make much difference to Tesla's bottom line.

But people who hate Tesla will continue to think their success is due to taxpayer's largess.
