They do this to have engineering margin for the worst case fouled heat exchangers and poor heat transfer coefficients, excess glycol, lead foot driving. Suburban driving in 20F temperatures doesn’t create the same strain. Wait until AC is warming up the air flowing through the radiator, and it’s 95 outside, and you’re sitting in a traffic jam on the I-76.Thanks for the responses. I will go see the service manager on monday. If indeed this is "Normal" I will switch to 20 wt oil. May they do this to keep a higher oil viscosity. Yet it MUST hurt CAFE?
