On my Android phones I get a notification balloon on the Gmail app icon that shows that I have new email(s) waiting. That's how I set it up and that's what I want.
On my iPad (16.5) I want ether just a notification balloon or a badge showing the number of new emails since I last opened Gmail. I don't see a setting option for that. In Gmail, Notifications are set to 'all new mail.' On the iPad, I see only the badges on/off toggle. With the toggle off I don't get a baloon and with the toggle on I get a balloon showing the number of all unread emails, including those in the Spam folder. How do I get new em as io notifaction gallons in Gmail on the iPad? And yes, I gave googled this.
