I believe that a IP address has information about location as well. Yes you could have multiple identities but if someone cared to check they could see they all originated from the same general area.

No I won't spend $32 on a qt, especially since the only person who thinks this stuff is good is you. When a majority of respected members says its good, then I'd consider it. For $32 I can change my oil and filter and have some $$$ left over. Best way to keep an engine clean is to get the dirty oil out. Having wear metals floating around in an engine is not a good idea, especially for 150,000 miles. Think about it.

And, it will give me nothing if Synlube increase their sales, either, since I am not on their payroll.
So you get nothing for selling the product. Oh OK. Then maybe you should give up on this one.

You can also see that there are unique users behind these different names, if you bother to check the IP address and location.

[/quote]Very true.

But, as you may be able to see, I live in Norway, Europe. Do you think it is very easy for me to walk out the door and suddenly appear in the US?

Sorry, TurboJim.

I saw your posting after I posted.

I guess Demarpaint would not pass an exam in geography, since he believes Norway is in the US :-)

jonny-b, can you please stay away from personal attacks and just stick to the subject matter here.

Hopefully we can get a VOA done if I get a quart of Synlube and then we can let:

1) bruce381
2) Molakule

The above 2 members can give there expert opinions, and everyone else can comment as they please, I do not want this to look like only bruce381 and Molakule are the only ones that can comment, but I think we need to hear there expert opinions if we are able to get a VOA on Synlube and hopefully we can all learn something.

Wow let me spell it out for you guys so there is no confusion anymore. Do you have friends? We do here in the US. I have friends in Canada, and Argentina, my son was in Afghanistan. I could email one or all of them, asking for them to make a reply under a different name. Now like magic I'm a different person, with a new IP address. I can even tell them a name I'd like them to use. I could be young and cool, but not frozen in time.

I guess my example was a little to simple, sorry guys. Hope you get the point now. Next time I'll be a little more specific. Now imagine how creative someone like myself, Mystick, or some other old timer, frozen in time could be if we used Syn.......?

Now I can post from anywhere in the world, and not even leave my easy chair.

BTW jonny-b I had no problems in school.

Without it he has nothing. It's common practice to spew such attacks when you have no coherent arguement. The mildest form is "Oh, yeah..... you're...."

I would really like a rational, coherent filled discussion about how this compares to what I use. But that isn't possible. There is not data to compare it with.

From what I've read in the other threads, this Miro guy would only ask why I would even use his oil on a motor that has 106,000 miles on it. And that website is no help.

Yes you hit the nail on the head. And this thread would end if everyone would just quit trying to drive in the last nail on the coffin.

I don't think I have ever seen people who say that they are just customers push a product so hard! I like Pennzoil (I am not fanatical about Pennzoil). If I posted 10,000 posts trying to get people here to buy Pennzoil, what would people think? Is a 'Customer of the Year' award enough for these people? Maybe they deserve some free oil. Maybe Synlube should hire them as salesmen. On second thought maybe Synlube better not hire them.

Is it standard business practice to insult potential customers? I somehow cannot imagine a professional motor oil company insulting their potential customers. On second thought that 'think with your dipstick' commercial was pretty provoking.

If UOA does cost $90-$125, I owe an apology to johnny-b. In the company of posters who pay that kind of money for boasting rights about their wear number, johnny-b is the sane one!

I should not be talking as I am equally addicted to addictives but my limit for high priced elixirs is lower than johnny-b's. A joke with a punch line of "we are only haggling about price, dear" comes to mind :-)

Seriously, does UOA really costs $90-$125? What do you tell your wife when she finds out that you are spending that kind of money?

I believe since jonny-b is in Norway and we converted his currency to American dollars, then we could see how much a VOA or a used oil analysis costs over there in Norway.

johnny-b, is this $90-$125.00 in Norwegian currency or was this converted to American Currency, just trying to clear this up.

Regardless what a VOA or UOA costs I return to my orginial point. What fan of any brand of motor oil pushes this hard and is willing to insult people to try to get people to buy that brand of motor oil? If anybody else had displayed this kind of behavior here trying to get people to buy Pennzoil, or Mobil 1, or whatever, would it be tolerated? What CUSTOMER is so devoted and fanatical about a certain brand of oil that they are willing to go through all of this?

I don't know who these people are that came here and claimed that they were just customers of Synlube. Maybe they were just customers and maybe not. Maybe we will find out some day.

I don't really care if they supply a VOA or UOA or not. Who really cares.

But I will say this: If the Synlube company wants to come here and try to sell oil to members here, they need to do so openly. They need to say who they are and make some real effort to get people to buy their motor oil. If these people who have appeared here were just customers of Synlube, then Synlube has been done a disservice by some of their customers.

Their credibility was scuttled by their own attitudes. I have never, ever, seen such a push from someone who claims to be a customer. Any place employing them would of fired them.

Mobil users don't do that. Pennzoil's don't. Amsoil, etc. Huge difference between them and Synlubers.

If Synlube ever comes here, they have alot of damage control to do. They're going to have to do a much better job than what we've seen here.

Synlube needs customers. Customers don't need Synlube.

As a sponsor, its not going to happen.

Yes, I refuse to believe that any typical customer would make such a determined and even offensive push for a product they believed in strongly. I am not going to make any accusations about anything but I have never seen any customer, unless they had something material to gain, make such a determined effort to try to get people to try a product.

At this point it does not matter to me if these people were just customers or whatever. I would never try Synlube or buy any Synlube product. I don't care anymore if they supply a VOA or UOA.

I checked out the Synlube website and it has oppressive music that I find unbearable.

+1!!!!!! Well said!

A little info for all: The State of Nevada, Department of Taxation, business entity search, shows that Synlube's business license status, has been "Permanently Revoked"

Also the Nevada BBB gives Synlube a rating of (F) stating that it is not a legally operating business.

In my mind these FACTS, put an end to ANY further Synlube debate.

Contrary to the Synlube trolls: These are the only FACTS that I have been able to verify, about this company.

And Audi Junkie said that using Google maps he was unable to find a lubrication business at the location where Synlube is supposed to be. So is there just a mail drop there? Maybe all of that has something to do with the Nevada BBB giving out an F rating.

Heck, if the State of Nevada has permanently revoked the business license of Synlube maybe the State of Nevada needs to be informed that this business is operating apparently illegally in Nevada. So what would Synlube do then-pack up and move to another state?

Well, maybe they will find some customers elsewhere, but bobistheoilguy.com was not the easy pickings they may have thought. And they made themselves look pretty bad. Especially when people found out about the F rating from the Nevada BBB, that Synlube had its business license permanently revoked in Nevada, and Audi Junkie doing the Google map search and not finding any lubrication business at the site.

I think they made a big mistake coming here. Tens of thousands of people either are members here or at least check out this website and those people talk to many, many more people. The word is getting out about Synlube.
