And of course, he will also provide NO proof of anything he says. Just that we are AMERICAN fools, if we do not try it.

And of course, as soon as the discussion starts on this "Elixir", these brand new members jump into the discussion, and immeadiately agree, and say they to are trying it, and of course we are fools not to try it.

My own opinion of JONNY-B....Is that he is full of **it.

Hi, Nuclear.

I don't think you have fully understood what I have said.

I have used a product called Cermax, a couple of years ago.
I know a person here that use Cermet, and it is close to what I used.

I used a product called RVS, and it is very similar to the Cermet.
I also used it to fix a diesel pump.
It is not a permanent fix, but it will last more than 100000 kilometers.
I used Synlube in this car, but I drained it after 73000 kilometers, just to to try this RVS stuff, and after that, the Nanovit.
I will use this RVS stuff, in the diesel pump in the other used Nissan we bought in January, since I know it is working.
There are several studies on this stuff. That and personal users in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, which I contacted, made me want to try it.
I saved some 3000-3200 USD on not having to buy a new diesel pump. I think it was worth it, but I guess you don't.

Besides these products, I am also using two other products for smaller things, and they are working, too.
Why shouldn't I continue to use what is working?

You are free to form your own opinion about me, the same way that I am about you.

I just don't have so much to say about your ability to understand about these products that I have tried(and still am trying).
By the way, I am also using this Rev-X (to clean up an engine, since I found it to work very well in a manual transmission) in the additive section.
No scientific things about it, but with comments about MPG and how it makes this underpowered car to accelerate, in 5th gear.

Since it is not done in a controlled environment, I just comment about what is happening/not happening.

It's not meant to be a dead serious test.
It's just personal observations about what changes it makes.

So far, it has done something, in a car where additives haven't been used. Just group 4 and 5 oils during its first 321000 kilometers of its life.
Just wanted to see if these additives would do some difference.

So far, the answer is "yes".

I have tried a lot of additives that doesn't do much, but some of them are very good.

JONNY-B comes in here, and starts hocking these wonderful cure all's every so often. And of course, there will be claims but absolutely no proof!.

The one thing about both products of course, is that they are expensive, "Cermet" I believe was going for $100.00+ a bottle. But hey, when you can rebuild your engine for this little amount, all the BITOG must be fools not to take advanyage of this wonderful product.

See yah till next time "Jonny-B".

For you info, I bought this car with 358000 kilometers on the odometer.
I tried ARX(two times without any good results) and restore, to fix the chattering from the hydraulic valve lifters. It did nothing.
I tried Synlube, and it made the sound go away within 1000 miles.
Besides, it reduced oil consumption some 70-80%.
I have written about it in a Synlube tread here, some years ago.

Anyway, on the Synlube homepage, they say that Synlube can not fix what is mechanically worn out.

Even though I no longer had any issues with this engine, I decided to try it in the engine, because of the results it gave me on the diesel pump.

I agree this can be very difficult to understand for you.

To me, I found it to be quite smart.
Remember, it saved me more than 3000USD on a diesel pump.

I guess you would just have been paying for the pump, and after that, telling people how smart it was to support Nissan with some extra money

Good ole "Jonny-B".

I have no idea about who Captain Kirk is.
I just found it interesting that a long-time user of Synlube was sharing his experience.
Normally, most people using Synlube don't care to brag about it(unlike me, since I like to discuss the technical stuff).

Loc: Millbrae, CA from Budman on other thread about this junk

""I happened to be lurking one of my rare times around here and thought i'd drop in and update. Reading what I wrote back in June made me feel compelled to at least let everyone know what happened shortly after.

After about 15k on the oil, my Nissan Murano no longer carries Synlube. I have no hard factual evidence against Synlube other than my experience and what I was told.

Our Murano started to exhibit a "whine" of sorts around the time I posted above. It was an intermittent whine that sounded like it was the AC compressor as it seemed to have started while it was getting hot here and only happened at idle. We had our Murano in for what I would call an ever so slight "knocking" at take-off from a stop shortly before this whine started, in which the dealer never verified nor could find any cause. We just brushed it off until this whine started. It started to get worse so we made our trip to the dealer and was able to show them the sound.

They had called the next day and I was floored when the service manager told me he had changed the oil as whatever was in there was SO SLUDGED that it sort of chunked out. They did two engine flushes, filled it with their dino of choice and sent us on our way. I felt like a complete idiot as I had to play dumb (for warranty reasons) that I kept it on a strict DIY chance schedule. They asked me what I used and I told them "walmart brand synthetic oil" to get me off the hook a little. They admited to doing nothing more to the car than said service of oil change and flushes. It hasn't whined SINCE.

I have kept up with 4k (exxon dino) changes and all is fine. I honestly have noticed a slight drop in mpg's though being back on dino but it could just be change of driving habit as my wife now works closer to home.

I did contact Synlube and they told me I could have gotten 100% refund had I gotten back the drained oil (I was a little mad at Nissan for doing the service without asking, no matter how little it may seem to them) and he did offer that it may have been misinterpreted as sludge as Synlube is different looking to most mechanics. He did also suggest maybe something WAS fixed, but hidden as the oil, as dealers sometimes do (especially one who admits DIY changes) so as to shift any warranty possibilites later. I don't know what to think other than the car has been fine since and my wife has cursed me for "getting scammed on that expensive #@$%! oil I put in her car".

I think Synlube has good intentions and never once seemed dishonest. I can't say I would ever use it again as it seems the risks outweight rewards and there being just about zero hard evidence (other than testimonials) of its claims or worth. No hard feelings, just didn't work out for me. No where near 50k on one oil change.""

I will add synlube =

If anyone is interested, you can read the entire thread that I provided the link to, enjoy.

This was an owner that had some issues with his car to begin with.
He wanted to solve it with Synlube, but he did not want to use their oil to clean out his engine(yes, Synlube has an oil to clean up a sludged engine), even though Synlube pointed out that this would be needed.

There were some other issues too, with this particular car, but the main problems were caused by using dino and to long drain intervals.
He was just trying to get some easy cash, since he had heard about the guarantee Synlube was giving on their oil.

I still think Synlube should supply the product, and put this to rest. On principal alone I won't pony up cash, sorry guys. I think this whole thread is entertaining, and a lot of [censored] at the same time.

I'm still waiting on proof the US Gov't buys their recycled oil from Synlube at $50 USD/ Liter. I have no doubt they use recycled oil, but they aren't paying those prices for magic oil. With close to 30,000 members I'm sure someone knows the scoop on that.

I think Johnny is probably one of the best candidates for this, and should be given the product. Think about the outcome, if the product does what it claims. Bitog alone could double their customer base, [that is if they have 16,000 customers, thought I read that somewhere], and if it doesn't do what they claim, look out below. Win win for them! They seem like a confident bunch, so they should have nothing to fear!

What I see here is a few people with an agenda trying to push product. If Bitog members do pony up the cash they succeeded in making a sale! Again JMO

Pages and pages of Synlube [censored], here and on Noria. Synlube: Brought to you by the guy, who was involved with bringing over the Yugo. Oh yeh he sold Fiat X1-9's as well. I guess that makes him an expert.

We all at BITOG are FINALLY looking forward to the VOA test results. Which I am pretty sure, will put an end the the hucksters for this product, at least on this site.

Sorry Jonny-B, or whomever you are. But the shill on this product is absolutely laughable, and so are the boobs like you who defend it. I'm no braniac or oil tribologist, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through Ponzi scheme [censored]. End of this subject for me

For those who didn't click on c3po's link I found bruces [respected member and oil authority] view interesting. I'd say the man knows what he's talking about.

Most people do their homework before plopping down $30 a qt for oil, or $200 for an OCI:

Enjoy!

Loc: Millbrae, CA From an other site this guy maybe the same as "budman" claims as lot of stuff here is his UOA.

"I have received the results of the testing by Staveley Fluids Analysis performed for SynLube.

In general, everything tested normal except for copper and silicon which had readings of 44 and 40 respectively. The report indicates that this is probably associated with normal engine break-in. As of this time, my engine seems to run just fine and my current 4-tank MPG average is 20.4 which is high for a 4.0L V-6 Ranger that's primarily driven in city/suburban light traffic conditions.

The oil has 15.3K on it. During this time only 4 oz. of oil was consumed and it was replaced by 4 oz. of Service Fill.

Here are the other readings:

iron: 79
chromium: 3
lead: 1
tin: 0
aluminum: 3
nickel: 5
silver: 0
boron: 18
sodium: 5
magnesium: 285
calcium: 2838
barium: 0
phosphorus: 712
zinc: 836
molybdenum: 539
titanium: 0
vanadium: 0
potassium: 0
fuel: vol
viscosity @ 40 C: 117.5
viscosity @ 100 C: 15.77
water: 0%/vol
soot/solids: 0.3
glycol: negative
TBN: 3.7
VI: 142

Look guys IC engines WILL ingest dirt and water and the oil is hit wil condensation, fuel, wear particles, gunk etc PCMO oil will not last forever because of the generally BAD filtration and acid formation do to heat no matter what this guy says, the oil with 3 solid lubes in a PAO base maybe a good lube BUT not at $30 Quart. Also can you say CC deposits due the the "teflon, Graphite and Moly" and whatever else is in here

Plus the wear rate is LOUSY.
And it may last out the 15K but so will RL.

Loc: Millbrae, CA More Fairy Tale from same Guy:

It would be beneficial to read the SynLube Services pages, you will see that high FE readings are due to the sacrificial FE additives. It is a mistake to judge the readings obtained from a sample of SynLube based on those obtained by conventional lubricants. I will not have any problems this winter with SynLube, nor have I had any during the previous four winters that I have used it. The engine starts right up and idles smoothly. While winters in Georgia are not akin to those of the northern states, we do have our cold snaps and I've had no problems during these periods.

Finally, the oil tested was SynLube 5W50 that was installed at 782 miles replacing the factory fill 5W30. BTW, the 5W30 is not a break-in oil. It was the oil that Ford recommends for the life of the vehicle. Most cars don't come with break-in oils any more.

With regard to TBN, SynLube states that the TBN is not important for engines using unleaded gasoline. SynLube can supply an additive to increase the TBN for those who wish it.

What ???
If TBN is not important then why even offer or have a additive avalible?

Full 16 pages or so of this ** is here:

They're just falling all over themselves with synlube joy. Woe to anyone who dares to have a different opinion.

Sorry fellows, but after reviewing all of this I have decided not to use my perfectly good Honda as an experimental vehicle. I will continue using a product that I know works as advertised. But I know bruce381 would still love to do a FREE VOA on this oil if anyone wants to send him some.

Hope all understand my decision to decline.

Smart move Johnny! No point in experimenting with a perfectly good engine. I was against paying for it. IMO the only way Bruce is going to get a shot a used oil analysis is if someone comes up with the cash to buy some of the oil. Even with their send the oil back when you're done with it for a full refund policy, I don't see the company sending him any oil. Maybe they'll prove me wrong? I hope so!

And once again, it seems like the mob have decided that they have made enough noise, with very little outcome.
The only thing you have been able to do, is to state that you will not try this product.

Not a single person of this crowd, have personal experience with this product that they so eagerly discuss.

It is almost like I don't know whether to cry, or laugh about it.

I was expecting exactly this outcome of this discussion, and that is one of the reasons to why I was a bit hard in the statements against Mystic.

I see that it could be an idea, if you could arrange a meeting, to find more arguments to why this oil is not working.

Even though several people are using it.

Have fun.

I know that only [censored] will be the result, no matter what, so I don't see any reason to do so.

Besides, I don't want to use some $55 to send it.

If some of you guys really wanted used oil analysis from it, you could easily have found a way to do it.

It is not my problem that you aren't familiar with this oil.
Make your own experiences, and don't expect others to do everything for you.

You will have to do something yourself.

I don't have to justify to you that I use this oil.
I just told my experience with it, since I have used it.

Again, arranging a meeting with a lot of people that haven't used this oil and never will, can do a lot for you:-)

You will meet new friends, bond, have fun discussing Synlube, and who knows, you can also form a group that can react when someone is asking about it, on the web.

In that way, you can share all your wonderful knowledge about Synlube and what it can do, or not.

Have even more fun....

Since you seem to be the spokesman for the company why not ask them to send Bruce a sample? That way it costs you nothing. Sounds reasonable. I think Bruce would report honestly and accurately. Afraid of the outcome? If the product is as good as you claim, then no fear! If it as good as you claim what a sales opportunity. Heck XOM or Shell might even buy the rights to it!

I highly doubt it.

Hi.

What makes you believe that I am a sort of spokesman for the company?
It wouldn't be so smart to let their spokesman live in Norway, would it?

We have been through this sampling, before.
Do you want a VOA?

This is the only oil that will be accepted.

With a used oil, it will always be doubts about how long it has been driven, how long it has been in the car, etc, etc....

I think Bruce 381 would do just fine.
That's not the problem.

Me too!

I don't think Shell would like to loose a lot of sales, because their customers would not need to buy so much oil from them.

Saving money for the customers, isn't their policy.
Like most oil companies.
Their policy is to make their customers come to them for their products, as often as possible.

I guess you knew that, already?

They will not sell a product to you, that will make you visit them less frequent.

Trajan, personally I believe that I have more guts than you.

Just being able to use an oil that is considered risky to use, will prove it too, don't you think?

The only thing you have the guts to do, is to make this sort of accusation, when you think that most members here, will back you up!

That would prove what kind of guts you have!
Wouldn't it?
