Techron Dosing Opinion?

Recently purchased regular Techron 12oz bottle at AZ with their bogo promo. In the past I've preferred and purchased the 20 bottle because it treats more gallons. Anyway, the 12 oz bottle supposed to treat up to 12 gallons and I own a Honda with a ~20 gallon tank capacity. My question is, any problem/issue with me using two bottles, 24oz to one 20 gallon tank? I'm thinking it's no big deal, but just looking for some confirmation on that idea. Thoughts on that appreciated.

I used to buy Techron a lot when O'Reilly had it "2 for 1" and I dump a full bottle into an almost empty tank. Some chemicals say to put in an-almost empty tank, others say a full tank - I don't remember what Techron says. Never been an issue. I think these products are formulated tso hat even a full bottle on an empty tank will do no harm - the makers wouldn't chance it.

I would not use more than the prescribed amount with Techron.
There are other forum threads about Techron already recommending a fairly high dose at 1oz/gal.

If you actually need cleaning, 2X the normal dose is fine. IMHO.

I don't think I over use any CFSC, generally once every ~5k miles. So I should be good there. Also since mentioned, Techron similar to others 'recommends' adding to a nearly empty tank. Unfortunately the Techron bottle opaque black, so unless poured into another measured container, just guessing. I admit I didn't really do adequate dosing research here before purchase so it's on me. With two bottles "over dose" is 4oz. It's difficult to imagine that being an issue, but....

Over the decades here, I remember one thread where the OP claimed he melted his in-tank filter sock by severely over dosing with gas treatment. I don't think a small overdose is harmful at all.

This goes with what I said/think - it can't harm anything*. What is a nearly empty tank / how many gallons ? Both the 12oz and 20oz bottles have the same instructions, so a precise dosing amount isn't that critical. Yes, they have a dosing chart on their website but if it's not on the label, it really doesn't mean much. 9 out of 10 people will go by the label instructions.

* I'm not suggesting dumping 7 gallons into a tank is okay either !

Normally I'm a 'stick to the recommended instruction kinda guy,' but on this one guess I'll go " little rogue". I see "double dose" mentioned, but in reality it's only 4 oz difference than recommended, ~20% more, I think it will be ok. Might not take the tank down as much before adding though doubtful that means much. Since there's no easy way to measure using the Techron bottle, just easiest to use two bottles. I do appreciate all the feedback here.

They say it treats "up to" 12 gallons (on the label). That means 4 gallons or 6 gallons or 9.5 gallons too.... They also say to put it in a nearly empty tank. Their instructions are clear as mud !

That's a fair point, but if one looks further, (see @The Critic link post #11 above, footnote #2) the recommended dosing 1oz per gallon. In any case, guess my call here, 4 oz won't be significant enough to be an issue.

How do the treatment rates change when someone fills up with Chevron gas, which also contains Techron, versus a regular no-name gas fillup?

This is on Chevrons' FAQ.

So they acknowledge it, but don't have you adjust the treatment rate? That reinforces my notion that 1 oz / gallon is a ballpark target.

I'm still in the 2 bottles for 20 gallons camp.
