Does anyone have any experience with Taurus handguns? I'm thinking of getting my wife a 22 magnum revolver DA for self pretection. Or should I go with another gun maker?
Thanks very much.

Oh, also rethink the 22 mag for self defense. I have a few and while anything is better than nothing, a 22 mag is one of the last cartridges I'd grab for SD...

Bill, thanks for the comment. I've heard that before. That a .22 tends to just make the assailant more angry. Although I wouldn't want to take one in the chest.
I have a friend who owns a .357 revolver. Think I'll have her shoot that loaded with 38s to see how she handles it.
She thought someone had gotten into the basement a few months back. Ended up calling the police to check it out since she jammed my 9mm pistol trying to cock it. We've also had someone knock at the door at 2am wanting to borrow some gas. Funny, they didn't have a gas can.
Thanks everyone for your comments!

The fit and finish of Taurus is nothing near Smith and Wesson. Add to that the heavy trigger pull of a taurus revolver compared to a Smith and Wesson. I've seen plenty of busted firing pins on Taurus revolvers.
I don't think Taurus revolvers are junk, just a poor attempt at trying to clone a top notch revolver like Smith and Wesson's.
