Looked down the aisle today, and this is what my store carries...

Mobil 1- 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30
PYB: 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40
Castrol GTX: 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40
Shell Formula: 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30
Castrol GTX HM: 5W-30, 10W-30, 10W-40

Various Gumout/STP Octane boosters, fuel injector cleaners, and STA-BIL.

Pretty much the same around here too. I haven't seen any decent oil deals at a Target in a couple years. The last score was Syntec blend for $1.24/qt. I bought all they had!

Target's not the best place for oil. The best deal is the Formula Shell.

I go to the Target oil aisle 2 or 3 times a year while there with my wife. I've never bought a quart because there is never a great deal.

Target is one of the worst places to buy oil in my opinion. Plus they don't sell filters of any kind. It seems like they're getting out of the automotive business, I remember back when they used to have the orange wall of fram.

There is a 10% discount for employees, unless they discontinued that as of about 3 years ago.

+1

Ours doesn't have Formula Shell in 5W-20.

But I do believe it's right around $2/quart for it if I remember right. It used to be under $2/quart

IMO, Target has essentially surrendered to Wal-Mart with respect to the oil business. Irritates me, since our local Target store is MUCH more convenient for me than is the Wal-Mart. Additionally, our "Super WM" has THE dumbest parking lot design I've ever seen at a big store. While there are several ways IN, there's effectively only one way out (unless you're willing to sneak out the truck route at the back). Store is worthless from Thanksgiving until after the post Christmas sales, as it will take you an hour just to escape from parking. But hey, they've got almost every type of oil you can imagine short of the exotics like RL or Amsoil. Had Target handled oil selling properly from the git-go, we might have some options (and competition). Oh well, I just make sure I don't need any during the aforementioned holiday period. . .

I think there's a law somewhere that you can't sell oil filters and Starbucks under the same roof.

+1.
Target has dirt cheap clearances.
The M1 EP 15W-50 is a good recent example.
I used Maxlife 20W-50 in my mowers for years, bought on clearance from Target at qt.
