see the smart [censored] comments are coming again. i am just trying to understand this and once again we start making bad comments. please lets keep this educational and clear. it has nothing to do with missouri and you all know that.

That sticker is from a 1994 F-150.

The fact that your sticker is positioned incorrectly is further proof it is wrong.

Your sticker clearly has air bubbles under it. An OEM sticker won't.

The barcode is also clearly missing.

You are being really ridiculous.

They probably got the VIN right because that's important, but fudged everything else out of laziness.

i just noticed that the barcode is not there. but that doesn't give you a reason to further be insulting. but even though the barcode isnt there the fact still remains that the rest of the info is right. vin and axle ratio vin its all right and ford also did clarify the gvwr on the tag is correct.

The sticker on your truck has severe credibility issues. If it were my truck, I would not trust it. A truck with a GVWR of 8650 lbs would typically have higher load tires than what your truck does as well. It is also strange that the front axle and rear axle weight ratings add up to the GVWR. Typically the two axles ratings together will noticably exceed the total GVWR.

I would not believe the sticker unless you could prove otherwise. The other big issue is thta 235/75R15 XL tires generally are rated for 2183 lbs of load each tire. 2 tires gives you a load capacity of 4366 lbs which is less than the 4550 lb axle rating on your sticker. It just doesn't add up. I'm not sure why someone would make up an incorrect sticker, but I don't believe it is legitimate.

I doubt the people you are getting on the phone are able to help you because they can't see your sticker. They will give you a scripted response to get you off the phone.

The GVWR and many other things on your sticker are clearly wrong. I'm not insulting you, you ARE being ridiculous!

i agree. i think its safe to assume 1800-2000 in the bed and i can probably pull 5000 ish.....the bumper is rated for 8000. its just very odd. the truck to my knowledge has never been wrecked all the vins are right so why would the sticker have been fudged ? i am not sure......

What would be a legitimate reason to replace a VIN sticker? Cab replacement, following a bad accident? I can think of reasons to fake a a sticker on a truck--but I'd think they'd do that sooner on an F350, not an F150... Have you crawled around under there, to check for things amiss? Overspray, odd paint splotches, etc?

Can you take another picture of the sticker but zoomed out so we can see where and how it is mounted?

whatever ranger whatever. i am in no way being ridiculous. i dont understand why the sticker would be replaced. and why would everything be right but the weight ratings.... that doesn't make sense to me. i would honestly prefer you not comment on the thread if you cannot be friendly.

The truck could have been wrecked, had a sloppy paint job done, been stolen, etc. Who knows. What is clear is that the sticker is wrong and not original to the truck.

A $1500 truck isn't going to have a perfect history.

this the first truck ive had with a questionable history that i knew of anyway. (that doesn't mean much)lol. you would think an accident would be easy to spot. everything seems original. even has the original Norfolk Virginia sticker. is there was to check the cab and stuff to see if its original?

If it was wrecked there is probably body filler somewhere. A magnet will reveal it (won't stick). Look for exposed welds, paint that is wearing differently from the rest of the paint, or anything that doesn't look like the factory did it.

Car thieves have also been known to swap VINs, including the dash tag, on stolen vehicles so they can be registered and sold. For example, shady car lot has a wrecked truck with a clean title, and a truck that's stolen that they can't sell. All they have to do is swap the VIN and they have a truck they can sell. If you see screwdriver marks, bends, scratches, etc. around the VIN on the dash the truck may have been stolen at one point. A lot of things can happen in 20 years.

The information for FORD GAWR/GVWR is in the document "Ford Body Builder's Layout Book".

I have not found an online version for 1993, but the 2011 has similar numbers as in your door sticker (assuming that your truck has the HD package and is the correct sticker).

Is there a sticker on the inside of your door frame kinda by the driver's shoulder belt loop saying not to make it into an ambulance? My 95 had one of those.

The bar codes are, IIRC, an internal ford thing and not federally required.

dash vin looks good. everything is consistently worn. except i noticed there isn't a tag on the fire wall at least not that i saw. there is no filler everything is metal. i am leaning toward a stole vehicle over wrecked or something i dont know but it sure seems fishy.

yes it has thec ambulance warning above the striker bolt the vin tag and the info we are talking about it also right above the striker bolt on the pillar where door closes to.
