The idea of driving around with K I A (Killed In Action) emblazoned on a car, always bothered me.
Aside from the fact they make nothing I would want to buy.

Kia wasn't able to poach enough BMW guys to do everything else.Suspension developed by BMW engineers.
Engine and transmission are different story.
Nope. Second guy from M division left bcs. disagreements. He was suspension guy. Hyundai was fastest to get him. G70 IMO is super cool car with stick, but not sure about that engine.Kia wasn't able to poach enough BMW guys to do everything else.
Yes, that's the case. My wife has been getting about 22-24MPG, so not an economy car.91 octane gas, I believe, if that matters to you...

Yeah. I know they are same. G70 with that 2.0T and stick is excellent idea. But not sure what happens when you utilize BMW suspension and Hyundai engine. BMW for example honor warranty, and will prepare your car for track purposes. Other companies, expect Porsche don’t do that. The G70 and Stinger utilize the same drivetrain and platform. In G70 engine is not only positioned properly, but pushed back like it should be, behind front axle. Something Toyota/Lexus could learn.
With that weight distribution, RWD, suspension, I bet it is. I actually would not mind getting that car. But want to see long term engine reliability. My wife's is her driver, but we have tracked it for fun. It handles very well for it's size.
Actually, she bought the AWD. We live in Western Mass, and it's been great for mild weather and the hills we live on.With that weight distribution, RWD, suspension, I bet it is. I actually would not mind getting that car. But want to see long term engine reliability.
True. Hyundai won’t stay with these cars. I just checked AutoTrader, only 9 with stick available.I looked at them, the local dealer only had AWD models with grand touring tires; with a top speed of a ridiculous 129 mph, I passed. Also, Stingers are now orphans so I suspect parts availability could be an issue.
And it can do big boy stuff:
BMW X3M > Macan. The Macan is front heavy as all getout, and even the fastest ones are total dogs. Then you have the Porsche tax. Just a flat out zero-appeal vehicle. X3M and Comp are just insanely better in every way.Macan is great and all, but that's from a different planet compared to a performance sedan. These days I'd rather have something more like the Macan, but me a couple of years ago would laugh off a crossover over any other type of vehicle. To be honest I slightly hate myself for being ok with crossovers, but with hatchbacks dying off it's the next frontier for performance versions of regular cars. I definitely find fast versions of regular vehicles to be vastly superior to live with over something really special since it was designed to work as a daily before the power was thrown at it.
Macan is a great choice if it's the type of vehicle you want.
I just don’t like BMW. I don’t like how they look and I hate the interior design.BMW X3M > Macan. The Macan is front heavy as all getout, and even the fastest ones are total dogs. Then you have the Porsche tax. Just a flat out zero-appeal vehicle. X3M and Comp are just insanely better in every way.
