Jeep has a couple minor issues. Most annoying is a broken mode door for the HVAC. Can't get a new one. Paint is peeling....Stuff like that Engine and transmision, driveline seems ok. Does not use a noticible amount of oil. Often she will call me and ask me to pick up a 2x4 or a few bags of chicken feed. Getting 50 lb bags out of the rear seat is a terrible job. No way to transport a board with it.Not sure I would agree that the Tacoma would be more than your 02 Wrangler.
Useful? Maybe, but for what?
I did a similar thread in which I asked folks to talk me OUT of a purchase, from which they failed. But in my case, I had been wanting one for many years.
In your case, what can the Tacoma do that the Jeep can't.
Not sure if you have a small utility trailer, but if you dont have one, it would be much cheaper than the Tacoma, and could haul more stuff.
Of course, if your Jeep is having issues then there is a different dynamic to the question.
All in all, if your Jeep is solid,, I would vote for keeping the Jeep, and getting a trailer, for use as a truck bed.
Sorry.
Not too excited about pulling a trailer around with me because the wife might call and need something picked up on my way home.
Power is down a little. Its still usable around town but definatly lost some power in the last 22 years. Normal wear? worn cam? Loose timing chain? prolly a combination of all?
I would not think twice about taking a long trip in it.
It has never been on a tow truck.
